Milissa Markiewicz

Milissa Markiewicz is a research associate with the Center for Galapagos Studies (CGS) and the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). Prior to joining CGS Milissa managed multiple operational research studies in Botswana, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. She served as project manager for UNC-CH’s Southeast Region of the Network for Public Health Law and as Program Director at the Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy at Duke University. Milissa worked in Uganda for over 3 years as a Special Projects Coordinator and Academic Director for the School for International Training. Milissa holds an MA in Public Health, an MA in International Administration and a BA in Sociology from the University of Virginia.
